What is PDLC Foil?

The PDLC Foil from Smart Folie® is a foil composed of multiple layers. The middle layer consists of liquid crystal particles, the so-called PDLC layer (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal). With the aid of electrical conduction, these crystal particles align in the same direction. This alignment turns the foil into a transparent surface that you can see through. When the electricity is turned off, the crystal particles disperse, making the foil opaque. You can no longer see through it.

The dark variant offers a higher degree of privacy when it’s activated (opaque).

When used in spaces with projections or digital screens, the dark variant can help enhance the contrast of the image, leading to a better viewing experience.

Omdat wij 100% achter de kwaliteit van onze producten staan geeft Smart Folie® als een van de weinige in de markt een garantie van 5 jaar. Bij aanbieders van vergelijkbare producten vervalt vaak de garantie wanneer, tijdens de montage, de beschermlaag van de folie wordt gehaald. Bij Smart Folie is dit niet het geval en heb je 5 jaar garantie op onze folie.

Dat is helaas niet mogelijk, onze Smart Folie wordt enkel gemonteerd door onze gecertificeerde, opgeleide dealers. Zij zorgen ervoor dat het met de grootste zorg wordt geïnstalleerd.

Smart Folie bestaat uit verschillende lagen. De middelste laag bestaat uit vloeibare kristaldelen. Met behulp van elektrische geleiding bewegen deze kristaldelen zich naar dezelfde richting. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de folie transparant wordt. Zet je de stroom uit dan wordt de folie weer ondoorzichtig.

Met het PDLC folie van Smart Folie® maak je glas ondoorzichtig of doorzichtig met één druk op de knop. Met de afstandsbediening zet je de folie eenvoudig aan of uit.
